Police have arrested a 40-year-old man who, according to a 31-year-old woman’s complaint, made obscene gestures towards her in the Paleo Sfagia area of Thessaloniki.
Police officers of the Levkos Pyrgos department filed a case against the citizen for obscene sexual behavior and violation of the code of traffic rules. According to the complaint, while the woman was in her car waiting at a traffic light, a man in a nearby car he was driving made “obscene gestures” with the intention of insulting her. The complainant then stated that he “rubbed” against her car three times and when she got out to check the condition of the bodywork (whether it was scratched) he continued to abuse her in an obscene sexual manner.
As the Athenian News wrote earlier, Greeks are driving behave freely, apparently not realizing the consequences of their actions and “habits”. But “behavior” on the roads can lead not only to arrest, but also DPT, including with a fatal outcome.
As for traffic rules, it is noted that even the gesture “μούτζωμα” (open palm towards the offender), if an annoyed driver decides to indulge in the “classic … Greek” greeting “” in relation to other drivers or passers-by, is punishable by law. In particular, “μούτζωμα” entails the imposition of a monetary fine, as well as more severe penalties, up to the deprivation of a driver’s license. In particular, an administrative fine amounts to 100 euros, but there is also a deprivation of rights for 10 days.
