The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday demanded that Finland bring to justice those who burned the Russian flag during a demonstration.
On this day, as writes “EVROPEYSKAYA Pravda”, an action was held in honor of the Independence Day of Finland. During mass demonstrations, a group of people, participants in the “612” procession, burned the flag of the Russian Federation. The incident took place near the gate of the Hietaniemi cemetery. After him, the police asked the demonstrators to stop. As a result of the actions, law enforcement officers of Helsinki noted that the demonstrations on Independence Day were calm, no one was detained during the processions.
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that they had undertaken a “diplomatic demarche” in relation to the Finnish side, during which it was stated:
“Such actions are viewed in Moscow as an unprecedented unacceptable act of desecration of the state symbol of our country.”
The diplomatic mission noted quotes TASS:
“The Finnish authorities have been demanded to bring the perpetrators of this crime to justice and to take measures to prevent such extremist tricks from happening in the future.”
