Eight arrests for electricity theft

The phenomenon of electricity theft has reached Greek proportions, as evidenced by the arrests that followed police investigations assisted by Δ.Ε.Δ.Δ.Η.Ε technicians. Another targeted operation was carried out on Tuesday morning in a village in the Kilkis region.

Cables were also confiscated, with the help of which unscrupulous citizens connected their homes to the power supply network. Techniques Δ.Ε.Δ.Δ.Η.Ε. started cutting off the illegal power supply, and the perpetrators were taken to the Livadia prosecutor’s office.

In previous days, eleven arrests the inhabitants of Aegialia (Αιγιαλείας), who illegally connected their houses to the ΔΕH pole. And seven more arrests for the same reason took place on Monday in three localities in the region of Atalantis (Αταλάντης).
