Athens: attacker stole women’s bags for six years, attacking victims

A 36-year-old serial thief fell into the hands of the police department of Attica, who for 6 years walked around the center of Athens and committed cruel robbery attacks on women.

A tall, dark-haired woman waited for her victims at bus stops, and if they resisted during the attack (in order to take away the bag), the lady used her fists and even “dragged along the ground” the unfortunate victim, tightly clinging to her purse.

The arrest of a Greek woman by the investigative department of the Attica Security Directorate took place on the afternoon of November 29 in Alimos, after many days of search activities and the use of available information. The attacker was charged with a prison sentence of 11 years and 6 months.

During the robbery, the robber showed particular cruelty, knocking women to the ground, as a result of which some were injured. To complete her criminal act (and take away the bag), she did not hesitate to throw herself on the victim who had been knocked to the ground, striking with her feet. One she broke her finger, ripping out the bag.

The detainee was taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.
