Put a bar of soap under the sheet before bed

If you have trouble falling asleep, no matter how much you toss and turn in your bed or what position you try, it could be related to restless leg syndrome.

According to the Mayo Clinic, more than 3 million people worldwide are diagnosed with this syndrome every year, for which no cure has yet been found.

Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a strange condition characterized as a neurological sleep disorder. This is an involuntary need to move, usually with the lower limbs, but sometimes with the arms and rarely with the trunk. Patients have a desire to move their legs, often there are convulsions. You may also want to move your arms, torso, and head. The syndrome is caused by disturbances in the work of the nervous system, while the symptoms appear mainly at night, when the patient is in bed. Chaotic movements disturb sleep, naturally causing irritation.

People with the syndrome commonly report symptoms described as tingling, burning, pain, pulling, or “goosebumps”. Although there is no official cure for this syndrome, there are simple methods that many consider effective.

What is needed is a clean, unscented bar of soap. The bar, as suggested by a number of medical sites, is placed between the sheets or under the covers (some people prefer to put the soap in a clean sock to keep the sheets from getting dirty – whichever suits everyone).

Soap needs to be renewed regularly, replaced with a new one, always fresh when it dries out as it loses its effectiveness. As already mentioned, there are no scientific studies to explain the effect of soap, but in several videos on the Internet, many users report that after using the soap trick, their sleep improved significantly, and their symptoms either disappeared or decreased.
