The first visit of citizens to a personal doctor will be combined with free examinations, Health Minister Thanos Plevris announced today.
In his speech on the ANT1 TV channel, Mr. Plevris noted that when citizens who have registered with a personal doctor are called for an appointment (the process will begin in the first ten days of October), “the package of services will also include a free medical examination before the patient begins to express his complaints “.
Speaking about the importance of introducing a system lpersonal physician (Προσωπικό Ιατρό), he stressed that for the first time the entire healthy population is given the opportunity “to get involved in the process in advance so that the doctor conducts free preventive examinations and forms a file cabinet.” This is done with the aim that a person from 20, 25, 30 knows the state of their health and makes the necessary efforts to preserve it for many years (individual recommendations will be given).
Among other things, the Minister of Health noted that “the involvement of citizens, the interest in the “personal doctor” system has exceeded expectations. At the moment, 3,200 doctors and 3,130,000 citizens are registered.”
