Two people were killed and one seriously injured due to an explosion at a fish farm in the Kanalaki region, near the village of Khokhla (Preveza).
The tragic incident occurred yesterday, September 4, at 15:30. According to local media, the victims were two workers – a 39-year-old man from Preveza and a 40-year-old foreigner. A third worker was seriously injured. The victim was promptly taken first to the Kanalaki medical center, and then to the Ioannina hospital.
According to the initial version, the explosion occurred due to a cylinder with oxygen or gas during welding. The police investigation into the circumstances under which the accident occurred at work is ongoing. The head of the farm and the manager of the workshop, as well as the deputy head of production, were arrested and will appear before the prosecutor today on charges of manslaughter, writes CNN Greece.
