There were explosions in Belgorod last night. According to Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the Belgorod region, “a series of loud noises” allegedly occurred due to the operation of air defense.

And also at least 39 private residential buildings along the streets of Mayakovsky, Popov, Pavlov were partially destroyed, 5 of them were completely destroyed.
RBC with reference to “Bel.ru” reports that residents heard several volleys. After that, a fire started in the area of Sadovaya-Chumichova streets. There are also reports of explosions near the airfield. Videos of the incident are circulating on social media.
RIA News reports that a series of loud sounds were heard in Belgorod at night. The reasons for the incident are being investigated: presumably, the anti-aircraft defense system worked.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has previously denied the involvement of Ukrainian forces in past incidents in Belgorod, saying that Kyiv has never used weapons to attack Russia on its territory. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, later said that the Russians should get used to the provocations of their own military, as happened in Belgorod. At the same time, the Ukrainian side cannot comment on speculation about its involvement in this.
