A taxi driver in Menidi was beaten and robbed by opening the car door on the go

Taxi driver Georgios A., 62, was brutally attacked early Saturday morning in Menidi.

It was around 4:00 am when Roma minors blocked his way in a small lane when a taxi driver was taking a passenger from the same area in the direction of Ekali. The man followed the path indicated to him by the navigation application, as a result of which he ended up in the very center of the gypsy settlement in the area, writes iefimerida.gr.

Underage intruders managed to open the driver’s door while the car was moving. Then the taxi driver was literally pulled out of the car and started beating. The victim began to shout to the client who was inside to run and save herself. She exited the right rear door and ran, while managing to inform the police.

The robbers managed to steal 250 euros, a client’s bag, and two mobile phones. The police, who arrived on the scene at the direction of their colleagues from the Acharnes Security Department, were able to locate one of the juvenile delinquents. This is a 12-year-old teenager who was arrested and is expected to appear before an investigator on Tuesday.

Investigations are ongoing against his wanted accomplices.
