US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis about the latest developments in Ukraine and the upcoming 3+1 meeting (Greece, Cyprus, Israel and the US).
According to the State Department statement, the parties “also discussed the upcoming meeting of the 3+1 mechanism to strengthen energy and economic cooperation between Greece, the Republic of Cyprus, Israel and the United States, and promote goals that are underpinned by shared democratic ideals of regional stability and prosperity.”
In addition, Mr. Blinken thanked Greece for its strong support for Ukraine, which includes tough imposition of sanctions, extensive humanitarian and defense assistance offered by the country.
Finally, the State Department noted that both sides discussed additional ways to help Ukraine as it continues to defend itself against Russia’s unprovoked and brutal war.

In a tweet, Mr. Mitsotakis described his conversation with the US Secretary of State as constructive. He stressed that Greece and the United States, as NATO allies, continue to closely coordinate their actions against Russia’s unprovoked military strikes against Ukraine.
