Greece: ferries will not operate due to a 24-hour strike on May 1.

All ships and ferries will remain in ports across Greece on Sunday, May 1, 2022 due to a 24-hour strike, the Panhellenic Federation of Sailors (PNO) announced on Tuesday.

Ships of all categories are affected: ferries, cargo ships, pleasure and sightseeing routes. The strike starts at 00:01 on Sunday 1 May and ends at 24:00 midnight on the same day.

It is held to commemorate Labor Day (May 1), the federation said. “This year, as before, sailors pay tribute, honor and celebrate a symbolic day that literally changed the course of history and is associated with the diverse struggle of all workers in our country and around the world,” the statement said. PNO.

Trade unions in Greece hold traditional strikes on Labor Day. If you plan to travel by sea, using ferries or any other vessel, contact local port authorities or travel agents, or better yet, immediately reschedule the trip to another day.
