19-year-old Bulgarian woman arrested for forcing her 14-year-old sister into prostitution

A 19-year-old Bulgarian woman living in the town of Filiatra in the Peloponnese was arrested on Wednesday for forcing her 14-year-old sister into prostitution.

It is reported that the girls’ father denounced the eldest daughter to the police after he found the youngest locked in a barn.

According to state broadcaster ERT, an underage girl was forced to have sex with 16 foreign workers, mostly of Pakistani origin, living in the area. Each man paid the sister of a minor and her boyfriend 20 euros for a few minutes with a girl. The older sister took the younger one from the family home a week ago. The father began to look for the girl, and when he found it, he turned to the police.

The victim told police that her sister, along with an accomplice, drugged her before encounters with men, which her sister reportedly confirmed. A 19-year-old Bulgarian woman and her 28-year-old accomplice have been arrested and are to be brought before a prosecutor.
