Due to weather aggression, many residents of Attica found themselves without heat and light. Repair work is hampered by the lack of access for equipment and specialists to damaged electrical networks.
According to the ΣΚΑΪ, problems with electricity have been recorded in many areas: Marousi, Chalandri, Psychiko, Heraklion, Metamorfosi, N. Philadelphia, Pefki, Keratea, Koropi, Kalyvia, Pallini, Pikermi, Drafi, Grammatico, Marathon, Alephoros, Alepochos, Alepochos, Vula, N. Smirni, Alimo, Salamina and others.
The ΔΕΔΔΗΕ teams are trying to deal with problems as quickly as possible. It is hoped that today access will be provided to places where it was impossible to reach the technique yesterday evening.
Today, a significant demand for electricity is expected due to cold weather – according to experts, up to 9,100 megawatts. Yesterday peak consumption, as of 19:00, amounted to 8102 megawatts. Forecasts received before the declaration of an emergency and the declaration of January 25 as a non-working day.
The cost of electricity is also rising. According to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, yesterday it was 243 euros per megawatt/hour, and today it is 280.81 euros per megawatt/hour.
