Georgios Georgantas, Deputy Minister of the Digital Government, reported on the activity of recording children for the coronavirus vaccine and adults for the first and third doses.
More than 2,100 million Greek adults have already taken the booster dose. The platform for children 5-11 years old was opened only yesterday, October 12, but more than 20 thousand have already made an appointment for vaccination:
“There’s a lot of traffic there. More than 20,000 appointments have already been made. ”
The deputy minister recalled that a child must be at least 5 years old to be vaccinated. The vaccination of children is scheduled to begin on December 15th.
A booster dose was given by 2,112,000 citizens, and about 1,700,000 more made appointments for this (in total, about 65%).
Regarding the statement regarding the VIP ICU, Georgantas said that “everyone who makes a public speech should be careful”:
“It is unacceptable and offensive for our doctors to hear such things.”
Our publication said that on Wednesday, workers in hospitals in Greece accused the conservative government in the reservation of beds in intensive care units, for “critical patients” as the Greeks now call VIP-ICU.
The accusations come from the fact that more than 100 intubated patients were “treated” outside intensive care units in hospitals across the country. President of the Federation of Hospital Workers (PEDIN) Michalis Giannakos said on Wednesday that of the 647 intensive care beds operating for patients with Covid-19 in the country, about 7%, that is, a total of 47 beds, remain inaccessible to ordinary citizens, because they are reserved for VIP patients.
