A migrant from Georgia, titled "professional criminal"

A 37-year-old native of Georgia, a titled “thief in law”, a member of a criminal international organization, was arrested in Athens.

In the course of operational activities, police officers managed to establish his identity and arrest him. According to sources in law enforcement agencies, the citizen had documents in the name of another person, thus hiding from the police.

However, law enforcement officers managed to establish his whereabouts and, by fingerprints, he was identified and arrested. The same sources claim that since 2011 he has committed robberies and burglaries in both Athens and Piraeus.

In 2016, he was found guilty of involvement in a burglary and robbery criminal organization, but was never caught.

On account of the criminal:

Convicted by the Athens Criminal Court of Appeal with a sentence of imprisonment for a term of 10 years and 3 months. Convicted by the Piraeus Criminal Court of Appeal with a sentence of up to 12 years in prison. Order of the President of the Athens Court of Appeal on arrest for the creation of a criminal organization, for individual cases of theft and robbery. The warrant of the Piraeus Investigation Department for arrest in especially important cases of theft and violation of the law on foreigners.

The accused will be involved in the execution of the above judgments.

As a reminder, in May last year EL.AS. liquidated the “branch” of the Georgian mafia “thieves in law” that had been operating in the country for the last three years, which the Greek media dubbed as “thieves in law”.
