Evros: pharmacist arrested for issuing false COVID-19 certificates

In Soufli (Evros) yesterday evening, on Wednesday 24 November, a pharmacist was detained, who issued false-negative tests, including to a civil servant of special services.

According to the Greek Police Department of Internal Affairs, the defendant admitted that he entered negative results of rapid tests for COVID-19 on unvaccinated citizens into the IDIKA system without conducting it. Among his “clients” were unvaccinated state employees belonging to the special services, who presented false certificates at their place of work.

According to Evros-news.gr, Alexandroupolis security personnel took a pharmacy, which is located outside the city of Soufli, under surveillance following complaints. They established the facts of violation of the law and detained the pharmacist for fake certificates.

Due to the fact that the criminal actions of the pharmacist concerned, among other things, the employees of the special services, that is, the military and the police, the Interior Department of the Greek Police in Thessaloniki was notified. Its leaders arrived in Soufli yesterday to attend the arrest.

An investigation is currently underway. It is being investigated whether there were cases of false-positive tests that were later used to obtain a certificate of the past illness and gave access to places where only vaccinated and ill patients can enter.
