Believers of the island of Zakynthos protest against the decision of the metropolitan to remove 14 priests from the ministry and call it a “satanic measure.”
As our publication reported yesterday, the Greek hierarch He has made a decision remove from service fourteen unvaccinated priests. Until now, the decision on compulsory vaccination against coronavirus has not been made at the official level, however, as Orthodoxia.info reports, the metropolitan took such a step with regard to the priests of his metropolitan district.
Not all believers agree with this decision, so they took to the streets in protest and scattered leaflets calling for it to be canceled. They believe that the behavior of Metropolitan Dionysius “disturbed the peace of mind of the flock” writes “Vima Orthodoxy”.
Supporters of the suspended priests who have given up their coronavirus vaccinations have expressed their views in leaflets that continue to be scattered across the streets of Zakynthos. In them, they accuse the Zakynthian Metropolitanate of “inhuman and illegal actions.” According to the ERT, the believers called the actions of the metropolis “satanic.”
The situation is not easy. If 14 priests insist on their decision not to be vaccinated, and no replacement is found for them, then the villages and suburbs of Zakynthos will remain, on the eve of Christmas, without priests and services.
Earlier, our publication reported that in the Phokid Metropolitanate called the Greek police check government compliance with coronavirus guidelines in temples.
