The 35-year-old tennis coach, accused of repeated sexual abuse of underage athletes, was taken into custody after being brought before a prosecutor on Tuesday.
The man was arrested last Friday in the northern suburbs of Athens after the parents of two minor women at the time, ages 14 and 15, filed a complaint.
The alleged offenses occurred between 2015 and 2020. The coach is charged with repeatedly mistreating a girl under 14 years old and having had repeated sexual intercourse with another girl, just over 14 years old.
The coach denies the accusations, citing a “mistake”. He asks to be punished “for what he actually did, and not for what is attributed to him.”
