The Greek government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, held an emergency meeting. In the afternoon, at 6:00 pm, Minister Thanos Pleuris will announce new measures that will further restrict those who are not vaccinated. The Epidemiological Committee meets at one o’clock in the afternoon.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, a meeting was held to strengthen the national health system, especially in Northern Greece, where the coronavirus is actively spreading. At the next meeting, which will take place at 13:00, experts and specialists will discuss new measures. They will be announced at an extraordinary press conference by Health Minister Thanos Pleuris this afternoon.
Mandatory rapid tests for unvaccinated employees are already “enshrined” in law as a duty, for violation of which a fine is charged. At the same time, as you know, tests are done at the expense of the workers themselves. The introduction of new restrictions for unvaccinated restaurant visitors is not excluded. It looks like the regulations for restaurants located in the red zones will be reviewed again and appropriate measures introduced as the government of the country will restore the epidemiological map.
As noted by Professor Papaevangelu, the new measures will be local.
