The number of tourists visiting Greece in the first eight months of 2021 exceeded 8.6 million, the Bank of Greece said on Friday.
According to the bank, this is 79.3% more than in January-August 2020.
The above data is reflected in an increase in profit of 135.7%, which amounted to 6.6 billion euros compared to the previous year, which can be further broken down into an increase of 146.2% for residents of the EU-27 member states (4.465 billion euros ) and an increase of 102 percent from non-EU citizens (€ 1.971 billion).
However, this figure is 5 times less in monetary terms and 3.5 times less in the number of tourists compared to 2019.
