Nikos Karavelos talks about the “pandemic of the unvaccinated”

Nikos Karavelos, Director of the Intensive Care Unit at Papanikolaou Hospital, reports an almost 100% occupancy rate in intensive care units in hospitals in Northern Greece.

Speaking at SKAI, he talked about a “pandemic of the unvaccinated” – most of the patients there are not vaccinated:

Northern Greece is under intense pressure from patients refusing to be vaccinated. They are the most vulnerable. All intensive care units in Northern Greece have reached almost 100% capacity. Those who come are unvaccinated. A pandemic was discovered there, it found the vulnerable, infects and destroys them. In our hospital, everyone who is treated in the intensive care unit is not vaccinated. The drama has had the highest number of deaths per 100,000 inhabitants and has the least number of vaccinations.

Mr. Karavelos expressed hope that the situation will change. Matina Pagoni, for her part, noted that shortly before returning to university classrooms, 78% of students were vaccinated. The situation with vaccinations in theological schools is much worse – there this figure is only 43%. She stated that “the Church must take this issue upon itself.”
