Conference in honor of 200th anniversary of Greek revolution to be held at American universities

A conference dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Greek revolution will be held at the American Harvard and Tufts University on September 24-25.

The two-day international conference was initiated by the Konstantinos Karamanlis Department of Greek and European Studies at the Fletcher School of Tufts University and the George Seferis Department of Greek Studies at Harvard University. The event will be held under the title “New Perspective”.

The main focus will be on the broad ideological, political, cultural and socio-economic aspects of Greece’s struggle for independence and its participation in later periods.

Speeches are planned by the Consul General of Greece in Boston Stratos Efthymiou, professors of the Karamanlis and Seferis departments Konstantinos Arvanitopoulos and Panayotis Roylos, professors Mark Basinger, Alan Herinkson, Kostas Duzinas, Patrice Higonne, Christina Koulouris, Konstantinos Tsukalasaiou Kiroe, Dimitris Kairidovos, Petros Vamvakas and others.
