The union representing public hospital workers called for a six-hour strike on Tuesday September 21 to protest the mandatory vaccination of medical personnel against Covid-19.
POEDIN urged participants to leave work from 10:00 to 15:00 and hold protest rallies at 11:00, meeting in front of the Ministry of Health in Athens, the Ministry of Macedonia-Thrace in Thessaloniki, and at the entrances of the respective hospitals in other cities.
In a statement released Monday, POEDIN said it was counterproductive to force health care workers to vaccinate because it intensified the negative response to vaccinations.
The United Union added that the suspension of medical workers who refused vaccinations has resulted in a shortage of at least 7,000 workers in the public health system.
