The forgotten bag, which contained about 9,000 euros, was found today by OASTH employees on a city bus in Thessaloniki. She was handed over to the police in order to establish the identity of the absent-minded citizen and give him the find.
An elderly man had previously contacted OASTH, claiming that he left a bag of personal belongings on the Harilau-Ν.Σ.Σ. bus line 10 at around 9 a.m.
At 12 o’clock in the afternoon, when the driver changed on the bus, during the search, which is always carried out, the bag was found under the seat. The driver immediately handed over the find to the stationmaster. All legal procedures were followed, and a bag of money was taken to the local police station, after which the man was informed that he could come for his belongings.
“It’s not the first time I’ve found forgotten items in my 18 years at OASTH. Finding someone’s documents and belongings can be extremely important for a person who has lost them. Today, as always, I didn’t think about what to do. As soon as I found the bag of money, I hurried to deliver it where it needed to be. I just did my duty, ”emphasizes the driver KD, who found the bag with the money.
