The tremors of 3.9 magnitude were felt tonight not only in Patras, but also in many regions of western Greece. The earthquake occurred on Thursday May 27 at 21:39.
According to the Geodynamic Institute, a seismic vibration of 3.9 magnitude was concentrated 9 km southwest of Nafpaktos, in the Antirrio region. The shallow focal depth, only 5 km, and the duration of the aftershocks caused concern not only among the residents of Patras, but also in many areas – Messolonghi, Rio, Nafpaktos, Achaia, Etoloakarnania.
The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center estimated the strength of the earthquake at 4 points on the Richter scale, the epicenter was recorded 12 km from Patras.
