Law enforcement agencies neutralized a criminal group in Laconia that instilled fear and horror in the local population.
At least nine burglaries and home break-ins were committed by attackers in the municipalities of Eurotas and Monemvasia.
In particular, the Sparta police department, as part of a preliminary investigation and subsequent operational actions, managed to establish the identities of two members of the criminal group. According to information from police sources, from February 27 to April 20, the attackers stole three cars that they used during their illegal actions, and also entered four houses and an office of a private enterprise, from where they stole more than 4,700 euros. Two other attempts to steal a car and break into a home have failed.
During the investigation, police officers identified the 27-year-old and 42-year-old Greeks, who were arrested. A criminal case has been opened against the detainees.
An investigation is reportedly ongoing to identify and capture their accomplices.
