The principal of the secondary school, Gymnasium 6 in Heraklion, Crete, has “blocked” the use of smartphones while in school.
Taking decisive action and calling for the support of parents, Michalis Sfirakis says, quotes newsbeast.gr:
“Every year we see that children are becoming more and more dependent. We try to limit the use of smartphones in class and during breaks. What’s new this time is that teachers and students understand that individually we cannot impose our decision on children, so we came to cooperation.”
Mr. Sfirakis urged parents to trust teachers in this decision, noting that students would be allowed to use simple mobile devices.
