A policeman who intervened in a fight between Albanian rioters and Roma in central Athens last night was taken to hospital with a broken leg.
A law enforcement officer, while separating the angry men, received a leg injury. The policeman was reportedly attacked by a man of Albanian nationality, who knocked him to the ground and began beating him.
Employees ΕΛΑΣ were called to intervene after receiving a report of an incident between 20 people fighting at the intersection of Pretenderi and Nikolaidou streets in Patisia. The police tried to disperse the rioters, but were brutally attacked by those involved in the fight, which reportedly involved a 15-year-old girl!
