Heavy rains hit the island of Rhodes on Wednesday, flooding major and minor roads and causing landslides in some villages. Authorities are urging citizens to limit their movements.
Streams in the area of Damatia and Marista are overflowing, local media reports rodiaki.gr.

There were no flight cancellations, only minor delays.
Due to stormy winds, the Blue Star Patmos ferry was unable to moor at the port of Akantia and remained in Trianton Bay for quite a long time. Municipal and regional government civil defense services and the fire service are on alert as the intense events are forecast to continue until tomorrow morning, Thursday 23 November 2023.
Authorities are urging Rhodes residents to limit their movements until the intense weather event ends. The fire department received several calls to pump water from flooded businesses and homes. It is noted that “Irish crossings” on the island are closed as a precautionary measure, local media reported.
