Turkish media: ‘Putin offered Erdogan to build drones in Russia’!

Turkish company Baykar, which manufactures notably the well-known TB2 Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles, has been the subject of discussion in Turkey in recent hours due to statements by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a meeting of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) on Monday, Middle EastEye reported. and the pro-government newspaper Sabah.

According to Turkish media, Erdogan apparently told his colleagues that during a trilateral meeting in Tehran a few days ago, he was approached by Russian President Vladimir Putin and offered a deal that would see Baykar set up drone manufacturing facilities in Russia.

CNN Turk reported that Erdogan said: “Putin told me that he wanted to cooperate with Baykar and offered to build a plant in Russia, as Baykar did in the United Arab Emirates.” In this context, a spokesman for Baykar denied to Turkish media that the company had set up a drone manufacturing plant in the UAE and declined to comment on President Putin’s alleged proposal.

Recall that the CEO of the Turkish manufacturer said last week that Baykar has not supplied and will not supply drones and UAVs to Russiaas she took a stand on Russian interference in Ukraine, expressing support for Kyiv: “We support Ukraine, we support its sovereignty, we support its struggle for independence, as the two countries have a strategic partnership, especially in the aerospace and defense sectors.”

However, you need to understand that the technical director and co-owner of Baykar Makina is Selcuk Bayraktar, the son-in-law of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and in the case of direct instructions from his father-in-law, he will find a way to persuade his brother, the second co-owner and CEO Haluk Bayraktar.

Therefore, everything here depends on Erdogan himself … If Putin finds something to interest the Turkish president, the issue will be resolved positively. Won’t find…
