Emmanuel Macron wins the second round of the presidential election. According to preliminary results, released at 20:00, the incumbent receives 58.2% of the vote.
His rival, the head of the National Rally party, Marine Le Pen, is gaining 41.8% of the vote. This is the highest result in the history of the French far right.
