Information has been received about 8 arrested at the time of publication of our material, as a result of a major police operation that is taking place today in the metropolitan areas of Zephyri and Ano Liosia.
According to information obtained from the state news agency ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ from police sources, most of those arrested are charged with various criminal charges.
At the moment, more than half a kilogram of heroin has been identified and seized, as well as a small amount of cartridges.
It is noted that according to the Greek police, during the operation, 6 criminal cases were opened and eight people were arrested for violating the Law on Drugs and Weapons.

According to ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ, the operation was started after the “uploaded” in the social network video, which showed people shooting in the air with firearms.
At the same time, at least one of the 9 shooters had a pistol with the stamp of the Greek police in their hands.
The video was filmed outside a house in the area, which police believe belongs to a gang leader. And the purpose of the video was the desire to show “my strength” to members of rival teams based in the area of Ano Lyossia.
The video caused a serious scandal at the very top, followed by an order from the police leadership to conduct a police raid.
The weapon has not yet been found, but, apparently, the Gypsy gangs in the metropolitan suburbs were taken seriously this time.
According to local media reports, as well as information from the scene, we are talking about hundreds of police officers, including at least 2 special groups ΥΑΤ (ΜΑΤ) and ΟΠΚΕ , which are used in power operations, incl. during the dispersal of demonstrations or the seizure of large gangs. Police sources say incidents like the one posted on social media happen in these areas almost daily. Local residents are intimidated and are trying to change their place of residence.
They also complain that they believe the police operations in the area are aimed at arresting drug addicts and not at arresting drug dealers who live and work in the area.
They ask for power to solve this problem so that the residents of the area can live in peace.
