IKEA is the main source of income for the Fourlis group and has been undergoing extensive modernization in recent years.
In this context, stores in Larissa and Ioannina have decreased in size, and the retail space of the first store opened in Athens, located near Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport, has recently been reduced.
As for the new IKEA stores that will operate in our country, it is expected that the store in Patras will open its doors in November next year, the opening of IKEA in Heraklion in Crete is planned for the summer of 2025, and in 2027 a large store in Elliniko. Summary of IKEA's financial results for fiscal year 2023 (September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023):
- IKEA's total retail sales amounted to 47.6 billion euros. This includes sales of IKEA products, food and services to customers.
- Compared to the previous year, retail sales were up 6.6% (or 7.3% if currency effects are taken into account).
- Inter IKEA Group's net profit amounted to 1.6 billion euros.
