Houses are sold on the Cyclades islands for between 2,000 and 12,000 euros per square metre. According to Engel & Völkers, there is growing demand from foreigners interested in buying a second home, either for their own use or as an investment.
The Cyclades islands' domestic market has seen significant growth in recent years, with strong demand from buyers in German-speaking countries. Switzerland and Austria, as well as the United States, are also showing interest in purchasing property in the popular island destinations.
Growing the desire of foreigners to spend their holidays on the sunny islands of the Cyclades is supported by reliable air connections between the islands and mainland Greece, as well as direct flights from many cities abroad.
The lowest prices per square metre according to Engel & Völkers are on Andros – from 2,000 to 4,000 euros, and the highest prices are on Mykonos, starting from 5,500 euros and reaching 12,000 euros per square metre, followed by Santorini with 5,500 – 10,000 euros.
Investment interest in the Cyclades is characterised by buyers coming mainly from German-speaking regions – Germany, Austria, Switzerland, followed by citizens of America and Great Britain, as well as interested parties from France and Mediterranean countries such as Italy and Spain.
