The Russian Federation is no longer looking for Zelensky and Poroshenko

In Russia, the search for the president and ex-president of Ukraine has been canceled – their data has been removed from the search database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

About it reports May 9 edition of Mediazona:

“The wanted cards for the heads of Ukraine disappeared shortly after they were accidentally discovered by employees of the state agency RIA Novosti on May 4. Now, according to the personal data of both presidents, the site gives a zero result.”

Earlier, journalists found out that both presidents were added to the wanted list by the duty unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the DPR. It was her number that was indicated in the contact information. This happened no later than February 22, but the wanted cards were noticed only in early May. Later, the Russians put four more Ukrainian politicians on the wanted list.

Previously, our publication wrote that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation wanted President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky – the corresponding card appeared in the department’s database. It states that “Vladimir Aleksandrovich Zelensky is wanted under an article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation” – the article of the criminal case is not listed in the database. It also indicates the date and place of birth of Zelensky, his nationality.

Since May 20, 2019, Vladimir Zelensky has been the President of Ukraine and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, which has been resisting full-scale Russian military aggression for more than 2 years, notes euronews. The Russian Federation has also put ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the wanted list – what he is accused of is also unknown. Poroshenko himself said that putting him on the wanted list in Russia is “recognition and almost a military reward.” “In the end, everything I did in recent years was highly appreciated,” he wrote on Telegram.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called Zelensky’s wanted notice “evidence of desperation”:

“Russian reports about the alleged announcement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation on the wanted list of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky are evidence of the desperation of the Russian state machine and propaganda, which do not know what other news reason to come up with to attract attention. Along the way, we remind you that, unlike the insignificant Russian announcements, the warrant of the International criminal court to arrest the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on suspicion of committing war crimes is quite real and is subject to execution in 123 countries of the world.”
