Moscow: “We have firm assurances from Tehran that it will not attack Israel first”

“Iran is not going to attack Israel. Or at least it is not going to attack first. Any response to the killing of Iranian officials and employees of the Iranian embassy in Damascus will be met proportionately. Such is Tehran's confidence,” – said the Kremlin.

According to the same sources, “Following the deadly Israeli attack on Damascus, contacts continue between Russian and Iranian officials, and Moscow's firm position is to avoid escalation.” “Iran has every right to defend itself, but we understand that the response will be disproportionate.”

What does it mean? That there will be no strikes on targets on Israeli territory from Iran, but most likely there will be strikes on Israeli targets outside the Israeli metropolis. Where? On embassies or in Iraqi Kurdistan, where there is a strong Israeli presence and relatively recently suffered a ballistic attack from Iran, on ships in the Red Sea, etc.

Moscow believes it has “Tehran's firm commitment” not to strike Israel unless, of course, Israel attacks Iran first, because if that happens, “Tehran will be released from its obligations.”
