The dismembered body of a man was found in a garbage bag.

Officers from the Thessaloniki Criminal Investigation Department arrived at the scene in Ioannina to assist the investigation after the body of a man was found in the Frontzos forest.

The body was discovered by a local resident who enjoyed hiking in the forest. After his call to the police, the alarm was immediately raised: the first examination of the remains showed that the man’s death was violent. The dead man’s head and legs were wrapped in a garbage bag, and his torso was naked. A pistol and handcuffs were found at the scene.

According to local media, the “find” speaks of mafia showdowns. A medical examiner will be on the scene while police officers are conducting an investigation to determine the identity of the unknown man and determine the exact circumstances of his death.
