Robbers stole jewelry and watches worth 50,000 euros from a famous jewelry store located in the center of Athens on Omonia Square.
The riffifi robbery took place yesterday morning, Thursday (March 21). Rififi – a method of burglary in which thieves first enter an adjacent building, drill a hole in the partition and from there enter the space that is their target.
According to a police source, unknown persons entered the building of the House of Culture, next to which the store is located. Then they made a hole in the partition and ended up in the jewelry store. As the owner informed the competent authorities, the attackers stole gold items and watches worth about 50 thousand euros.
Investigations ΕΛΑΣ are in full swing. Police are looking for CCTV footage. The crime scene is examined for fingerprints.
