52-year-old woman arrested for housing 94 dogs "in poor sanitary conditions"

Fifty-two-year-old woman arrested for cruelty to animals – content 94 dogs at his home in Thermi, Thessaloniki, “in deplorable hygienic conditions.”

Following a complaint to the police, a mixed team of police officers, veterinarians and area officials conducted an on-site inspection where they discovered that “the animals lived in the mud, among a lot of garbage, dead rodents, stagnant water and excrement”the statement says.

The citizen was arrested and a case was brought against her for violations related to sanitary standards and the law on stray animals. The woman has been handed over to the competent prosecutor, and the Veterinary Service of Thessaloniki is awaiting the identification of the animals in order to verify the relevant violations and impose administrative fines. PS Maybe I’m wrong, but it doesn’t look like dogs live in such bad conditions. They had beds, a roof over their heads, and so on. Puddles on the ground are clearly after rain and not in the mud, but on concrete slabs. And the main question: where will 94 dogs go? Will they be sent to some animal care center? Will they be better off there? Once I had a chance to look at such centers… Most likely, the problem is something else, perhaps in the neighbors or local authorities.
