Underwater special forces soldiers arrested along with the former head "Conspiracy of fiery cells"released

Two Greek Navy submarine saboteurs, arrested on Friday for possessing weapons and explosives together with the former head of the terrorist organization Conspiracy of Fire Cells, were released on Saturday without any restrictive conditions by the decision of the prosecutor of the Naval Court.

Vangelis Kantianis, the lawyer for the two defendants, called the case a “dummy” and said that both of his clients – “soldiers of the most elite unit of the Greek fleet were released because it was proven that they had no connection with the other arrested person and did not communicate with him. Therefore, all current reports about the alleged “collaboration” of forensic terrorists, an “imminent major strike,” etc. are fantasies and bad scenarios of unsuccessful directors. Fortunately, justice workers do not allow unsuccessful directors to dictate their decisions.”

The defendants have been charged with petty hooliganism and further investigation will be conducted. At the same time, the former leader of the terrorist organization “Conspiracy of Fire Cells” was sentenced to 25 months in prison without parole, he will be sent to prison for violating the law on weapons and possession of drugs for personal use. Since he was caught red-handed, the trial followed an accelerated procedure, and the decision was made by a single judge.

National police have arrested a former leading member of the terrorist organization Conspiracy of Fire Cells as part of a major crackdown on organized crime. A former leader of the Cells, who previously served a prison sentence after admitting involvement in the organization, was arrested for possession of explosives. He was released on parole in 2019. According to police sources, the operation was carried out after receiving information about weapons and explosives in the possession of these people. Indeed, as a result of the searches the following were discovered:

  • 2 boxes of TNT,
  • 4 instant fuses,
  • 4 fuses,
  • 1 grenade
  • 1 pistol with a cartridge in the chamber and a magazine with five cartridges,
  • 1 rifle magazine,
  • 2 empty pistol magazines,
  • 281 cartridges of various calibers,
  • bandolier,
  • radio pen,
  • a bag of cannabis weighing 6 grams,
  • fabric gun case,
  • bulletproof vest,
  • folding metal baton,
  • 5 knives, 2 of which are folding,
  • 4 iron brass knuckles,
  • baseball bat,
  • torch, smoke bomb and 4 torches,
  • anabolic substances,
  • tear gas canisters,
  • 11 mobile phones,
  • 6 laptop computers,
  • external hard drive,
  • diary and notepad with handwritten notes.

As for the explosives, one of the two underwater saboteurs reported that “it was brought from an exercise, he took it in a backpack to his home and was going to return it to duty, but did not have time…”! However, as it turned out, the type of explosive found was not used by the Greek Navy and was not stolen from army warehouses, as the investigation did not reveal this.

A former member of the Fire Cell Conspiracy knew the man known as “Rambo” who was recently murdered at a gas station in Corydallos. The explosives are believed to have been used in the bombings of former Soviet Union expatriates in Thessaloniki and Aspropyrgos for their dominance of the cigarette smuggling market. It is noteworthy that the “former” terrorist hid for a long time in the countryside, as he believed that he himself could become the target of liquidation by the “Greek mafia.”

As noted ELASexcept for one of those arrested, who was previously charged with participation in a terrorist organization, the rest were charged with causing dangerous bodily harm, violating laws on weapons, sports (possession of a rocket launcher), doping and rape.

PS Perhaps the reader who is not versed in the realities of Greece will be surprised by this development of events, but only those who want to isolate themselves from the realities of this world are not aware of the close ties of the mafia, the crime of foreign intelligence services and… the Greek authorities.
