Yulia Timoshenko "stood up with her chest" to defend Zaluzhny, Zelensky "ponders" about the change of leadership (video)

The leader of the Ukrainian party “Fatherland” Yulia Tymoshenko is categorically against the resignation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, calling such intentions a “mistake of the authorities.”

How quotes politics publication BB.LV, the main thing is to defend the state, Tymoshenko believes. She called on politicians not to get involved in political fuss, to forget about ratings and ambitions:

“We must direct all our efforts to fight the enemy, to unite society, and not engage in the fight against political opponents.”

Yulia Tymoshenko believes that it was thanks to the unity of state leaders and the Ukrainian people that they managed to defend Kyiv, liberate Kherson, and learn to deliver crushing blows to the enemy:

“For we were one. Because our armed forces were led by people who are trusted by the army and the people. Only by maintaining this unity and these people will we be able to win the current war and defend our state. For my part, I will do everything in my power for this.”

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that he was “reflecting” on a change of leadership and not only the military one. This is how he commented on the possible dismissal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny in what was published on Sunday, February 4 interview Italian channel Rai 1. Answering a journalist’s question about Zaluzhny, Zelensky said that Ukraine needs a “reset,” which means a change of leadership.

“When we talk about this, I mean the rotation of a number of government leaders, not just in one sector such as the military. I reflect on this replacement, but it cannot be said that we have replaced one person here… If we want to win , we must push everyone in the same direction, be convinced of victory, we cannot despair, give up, we must have the right positive energies… That’s why I’m talking about a reboot, a replacement, I mean something serious that It’s not about one person, it’s about the direction of the country’s leadership.”

BBC publication writesthat the resignation of Valery Zaluzhny, which has been discussed so much in recent weeks, is not a matter of military tactics and strategy, not of different views of the president and commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the future of military operations, but of pure politics. After all, how else can we perceive the words of the President of Ukraine, who talks about the resignation of his top general in categories like “we need to reboot not only the military sector, but also other leaders of the state”?

It is not yet very clear which leaders of the state Vladimir Zelensky wants to reboot (we can only say with complete confidence that among these leaders there will definitely not be the head of his administration Andrei Yermak; his position as “vice president” is definitely not in danger). But the very formulation of the question – we will fire this or that minister, and at the same time we will change the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces – this is definitely about a policy that has finally returned to warring Ukraine.

Zaluzhny, the publication notes, who has never declared his political ambitions, is one step away from becoming, perhaps against his will, a visible alternative to Vladimir Zelensky – this lies on the surface. It’s paradoxical: the president, who two months ago warned the commander-in-chief against participating in politics, is now pushing him into it. The only problem is that today no one – including Zaluzhny and Zelensky – can be sure that democratic presidential elections in Ukraine will ever take place in the foreseeable future.
