The Bundestag approved a state budget of about € 476.8 billion. Of this, about € 7.6 billion is allocated for military assistance to Ukraine.
With a delay of more than a month, the Bundestag today adopted a budget for 2024: with strict debt limits and the abolition of agricultural subsidies. This is exactly what the German farmers were protesting against – their protests are now likely to continue.
The German government will have to borrow 39 billion euros. There is also a separate defense budget – about €52 billion. and in addition to it funds from the Bundeswehr special fund.
Germany confirms its status as one of Ukraine’s key allies in military operations against Russia, ranking second in terms of assistance volumes after the United States. In addition to the arms transfer, the Germans will continue to provide further assistance in the field of health this year. Germany also froze €4 billion of Russian assets.
So, so far everything is going according to the US plan – it turns out to shift a significant part of the costs of supporting Ukraine to EUfirst of all, on Germany, even at the cost of their budget deficit.
The American military-industrial complex continues to be loaded with orders, because the same Germans will purchase a significant part of the weapons in the States before building their own defense factories. Meanwhile, the population of Germany is being prepared for war with Russia…
