Russians are opening businesses abroad en masse

The top 7 countries that Russians would like to start a business in 2023 are headed by Georgia.

“Forbes” clarifiesthat from February 2022 to February last, Russian citizens registered in Georgia 16 thousand companies, that is, twice as many as in the previous 27 years (7,788 companies). Last year, Russians registered 13,000 new companies in Georgia.

In second place in terms of attractiveness for Russians is Kazakhstan: 6,100 companies are registered versus 3,500 a year earlier. Third place shared Montenegro And Armenia – 3,400 legal entities with Russian owners are registered. The latter was more in demand among relocants* in 2022: then Russian citizens opened 7,328 companies in Armenia.

In Montenegro, after the start of the war in Ukraine, Russians founded 2,600 companies, and in Serbia – about 3,000 versus 6,000 in 2022. As a rule, these are cafes, beauty salons, networking events**, kindergartens, development companies, book stores, cosmetic production.

Remains in demand and Türkiye – approximately 2750 companies. At the same time, the total number of businesses registered to Russians in this country reached 23,713 by the end of 2023. Bringing up the top UAE — about a thousand legal entities are registered. In most cases, citizens re-register ready-made businesses from Russia here, the publication clarifies.

Became less attractive Uzbekistan – only 745 companies were opened in the country, or 20% less than a year earlier. Many were created by immigrants from Uzbekistan who recently received Russian passports.
