Thousands of applications are pending to adopt children from heterosexual couples, but the government wants LGBTQ people to take them

While the adoption authorities have thousands of applications for adoption of children by heterosexual couples, the government is interested in passing an LGBTQ-only law in order to adopt these children!

This fact alone is the epitome of absurdity! By July 2023 alone, 2,639 applications for adoption and 445 applications for fostering (caring for a minor) had been submitted. That is, thousands of normal couples who are looking forward to becoming parents because they cannot do it naturally for various medical reasons. Of course, if we add to this the statements from previous years, the number of desperate normal couples becomes especially large. We say “desperate” because strict income criteria apply to them – in order to adopt a child, you need to be… a Rockefeller.

So how is it that the government wants to give away LGBTQ children when there are couples, such as government employees, who can provide a stable environment (without much financial comfort, but with a secure job and therefore the ability to cover the child’s basic needs). Let the needs of heterosexual couples be met first.

As for the income criteria, they should be abolished. Not a single child grew up bad because his parents did not buy him everything he needed. But he can grow up bad if he does not receive love, care and education in a normal environment.

This is where all those who supposedly disagree with New Democracy need to take responsibility and not play games like abstaining on polling day and drinking whiskey in the House bar, knowing that the bill will be passed by the opposition. If what is happening really affects them, they must prove it by resigning from their parliamentary powers. To show that they too are ready to lose their privileges because their government is passing this absurd bill.

Because safe arguments are nothing more than hypocrisy. Proper disagreement is when you have to pay for it. Let them play Tarzan, pay this price, and then they will retain their political dignity.

The basic adoption requirements for normal couples are:

1. age (at least one of the two potential adoptive parents must be over 30 and under 60 years old. In addition, the adoptive parent must be at least 18 years older than the adoptee, but no more than 50),
2. criminal record (adoptive parents must not have been definitively convicted or have pending criminal prosecutions for crimes that could lead to the deprivation of parental rights – except for those provided for by current laws on drugs and trafficking in persons and organs),
3. financial situation (ability to cover basic expenses for the maintenance, education and medical care of the child),
4. health status (adoptive parents have good mental, intellectual and physical health – without chronic infectious diseases),
5. consent (the couple must agree to adoption. This opportunity is also available to an unmarried man or woman. The consent of a minor child to be adopted is required if he is over 12 years old).

The procedure begins with potential adoptive parents contacting the relevant institutions in the country, then submitting an application and supporting documents, then the institution sends the document to the competent social service at their place of residence for the social worker to conduct a social investigation and determine suitability.

If there are no obstacles, candidates wait for notification from the institution and finally participate in the procedure for making a final decision on the adoption of the child.

Is it really possible that everything that applies to heterosexual couples as requirements, of which there are many, will also apply to homosexual couples? Was this mentioned anywhere?
