The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a video of a fight between Israeli soldiers and two Hamas militants in an apartment in the south of the Gaza Strip.
The video begins with soldiers of the 101st Battalion trying to dodge gunfire while in a second-floor apartment in Khan Yunis.
Hamas bullets rain down, and one Israeli soldier narrowly escapes injury.
The footage, reminiscent of scenes we’ve only seen in war films, shows an explosion inside an apartment. At the end of the video, Israeli soldiers inspect the premises after the end of the battle and discover the bodies of two Hamas militants.
Seven Israeli soldiers were wounded in the firefight and a K-9 dog searching the building was killed, according to an IDF statement. According to the same statement, the fighting broke out as Israeli soldiers searched an area that had previously been shelled by Israeli fighter jets and armored vehicles. In addition to the two Hamas militants killed, Israeli soldiers found weapons, ammunition and grenades in the building, the statement said.
The Hamas Health Ministry in Gaza announced today that 147 Palestinians have been killed and 243 wounded in the past 24 hours. Total 23,357 Palestinians killed and 59,410 wounded as a result of Israeli shelling in Gaza since October 7, the Gaza Ministry of Health said in a statement today. According to the same source, the victims were mainly women, teenagers and children.
