A. Georgiadis: “Fines for those over 60 years old and not vaccinated against Covid should be abolished”

Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis recently said that together with Deputy Minister Irena Agapidaki, they have proposed eliminating fines imposed on older people over 60 who have not been vaccinated during the pandemic.

Officials acknowledged that “this should not have been done by force.” Of course, behind this admission is that the government violated the constitutional rights of citizens by hiding the real situation related to the danger of vaccination with untested vaccines.

The Health Minister’s statement suggests that the government is trying to launch a new campaign to increase vaccinations against Covid-19, but it should “bury the hatchet” not only against those who were not vaccinated, but also against those who did so under duress and have since been indignant because they believe that they put their lives at risk by using, in fact, an experimental vaccine.

“We recommended to the government, and our request was accepted, that in the coming days we will introduce a legislative initiative to write off fines for older people that were incurred during the pandemic. We are committed to ensuring that vaccination is not forced, it is done because we need it and the message must reach everyone.” – said Adonis Georgiadis.

At another point he noted: “We are not in an era of pandemic, the virus is here to stay, and life without this virus is not foreseen in the near future. We must learn to live together, and annual vaccination, especially of vulnerable sections of the population, as we do in the case of influenza, must become business as usual.”

The health minister also mentioned a new public information campaign and efforts to increase vaccination coverage in institutions and even pharmacies. “The first conclusion drawn from the data obtained is the enormous importance of vaccination against both influenza and coronavirus. This issue has divided us during the pandemic, we have been divided into vaccinators and anti-vaxxers, we have fought, breaking our hearts.”said Health Minister Adonis Georgiades at a briefing on COVID-19 and viruses. “The coronavirus vaccine is nothing more than a vaccine for what we are used to,” – he added, in particular.
