As the FT notes, this winter European companies have accelerated the pumping of gas from storage facilities in Ukraine. Analysts say this has helped energy companies and traders use small amounts of fuel from storage in the European Union, helping to curb rising gas prices.
The level of inventories in storage facilities in European countries remains at almost 90%, which is significantly higher than in the previous five years. It was previously reported that Europe broke a record for liquefied natural gas imports in 2023. During the reporting period in countries EU about 131.22 billion cubic meters were received. The volume of LNG imports exceeded the 2022 figures by 1.9%.
