A fox looking for food was spotted in the city

A large fox walked through a residential area, not paying attention to the looks of the townspeople.

After images of wild boars and wolves roaming freely through residential areas of the area flooded the internet, foxes have now appeared, perhaps “completing a series of wildlife visits” to the city centre. According to lamiareport.gr, on Saturday evening, a cute big red fox, not paying attention to the surprised looks of residents, was looking for food on the streets of the city, and then disappeared.

Foxes are apparently already becoming “city animals”, somewhat like cats. Although in reality there is nothing funny about it. Foxes are wild animals that carry the deadly disease rabies. For example, if a fox bites a domestic dog that went for a walk, and the dog bites the owners, tragedy cannot be avoided.

Why are foxes being seen more and more often in residential areas? The increase in their numbers and their presence on city streets is due to the abundant food they find. These are garbage containers, mice, and bags of food scattered everywhere. As the expert notes, foxes do not require human intervention, i.e. any feeding (unlike cats). On the contrary, the “feeding” of foxes in the city can mark the beginning of instability and imbalance of the food chain in the natural environment.

However, city residents, aware of the lack of food in the places where foxes live, and also taking into account “climate change” (which affects wild animals), often “pity” the red-tailed animals, leaving them food on the streets as complementary food and treats. But under no circumstances should you do this.
