Tempi: the only survivor from the first carriage underwent major surgery

Gerasimos, the only passenger in the first carriage to survive the Tempi tragedy, is undergoing treatment at a specialized rehabilitation center in Boston (USA).

Train accident

European Court

EU sent the case to the European Court of Justice because Greece does not comply with the European framework for the provision of services and safety in relation to rail transport. The Directive stipulates that Member States must ensure that the contractual agreement between the national competent authority and the railway infrastructure manager is concluded no later than 16 June 2015 and published within one month.

Five citizens have been charged with negligent habitual violation of road safety, gross manslaughter by negligence, mass infliction of grievous (and lesser) bodily harm by negligence. These are the heads of the departments of railway systems and operation of E/M systems and electrification, as well as the general directors of the Main Directorate of the UES network.

Black box

This was preceded by an incredible act of intervention (excavation work at the site of the tragedy). Relatives of the victims believe that this is a “cover-up of facts” by the Greek justice system.
