The ski resort in Kalavryta will open this month

The director of the ski center, Alexis Agrios, said that this year the resort will open its doors to visitors on December 16. And this will also be the first day of operation of the new lift.

At the Kalavriton ski center (χιονοδρομικό κέντρο Καλαβρύτων), 50% of the projects to update and modernize the facilities have already been implemented. The investments made for this purpose amount to a total of 22,630,000 euros, with the remaining 50% expected to be realized upon completion of the ski resort this year. Mr. Agrios adds that “this particular program has excellent prospects that ski enthusiasts will appreciate.”

At the Kalavryta ski center, the Achilleas ski lift is ready, converted from a three-chair to a ten-seater cabin, and a new substation has been completed. Wherein The electronic ticket system has been improved: Visitors will be able to order online without waiting in line and will be able to freely go straight to the lift to ski and snowboard.

Finally, Mr. Agrios mentions that some preparatory work has been carried out (geological surveys, laying cables for electricity and optical fibers), so that by the end of this season they will be ready to complete 50% of the remaining work.

IN next season it is planned to replace the Stiga lift (two-seater chairs will be converted into six-seater cabins). The restoration of a stone building in Vatia Lakka, located in the center of the ski resort, will be carried out. A restaurant will also open there.

Regarding weather conditions, Alexis Agrios notes: “We especially hope that there will be snow and our guests will be able to ski and play in the snow. However, they have time to do everything they came to us for – to have a good rest and unwind.”

“Every year snow falls at different times. For example, last year was the best year in terms of snowfall, so I think we need to wait and see how the weather develops. I hope everything goes well this year,” he notes.
